# WhatsApp Message Templates for Chat 2 Pay Extension

As part of the[ Chat 2 Pay](https://clickatell.gitbook.io/chat-2-pay-user-guide/master) offering that was recently released, you need to [specify "payment request" and "confirmation" messages](https://clickatell.gitbook.io/chat-2-pay-user-guide/cybersource-and-salesforce/configuration-details/message-configurations) for each channel linked to the extension. One-way message templates (or highly structured messages/HSMs) are required by WhatsApp for sending any one-way messages to your users. Therefore, if you've linked a WhatsApp channel to this extension, you also need to link two approved message templates to this extension.

With this release, we've significantly reduced the customer input required to create and submit these templates, thereby improving the probability of template approval by WhatsApp.

When [adding a template](https://clickatell.gitbook.io/whatsapp-user-guide/channel-capabilities/whatsapp-message-templates/add-message-templates#add-a-chat-2-pay-template), you can now select from the drop-down whether this template is for the Chat 2 Pay extension, or for use in general. Upon selecting "Chat 2 Pay" from the drop-down, the pre-made templates are shown with a preview to see what the message would look like to the end-user on WhatsApp.

***Note*****:** you *cannot change/edit any of the content within these templates*
