# Configure Chat 2 Pay

Before you can use Chat 2 Pay to accept payments from your customers, you must configure:

* [Setup name](/chat-2-pay-user-guide/configure-chat-2-pay/configure-chat-2-pay/add-setup-name.md)
* [Payment settings](/chat-2-pay-user-guide/configure-chat-2-pay/configure-chat-2-pay/step-3-configure-the-extension.md)
* [Message configurations](/chat-2-pay-user-guide/configure-chat-2-pay/configure-chat-2-pay/add-message-configurations.md)
* [Callback notifications](/chat-2-pay-user-guide/configure-chat-2-pay/configure-chat-2-pay/manage-callback-notifications.md)

Once successfully configured, an **Activation Key** is generated. This is the key you'll use to authenticate [Chat 2 Pay API calls](https://docs.clickatell.com/products/chat-2-pay/api-reference/) and activate your linked applications like [Salesforce](/chat-2-pay-user-guide/configure-chat-2-pay/configure-chat-2-pay/manage-callback-notifications/salesforce.md).
